SCOOP 2012 Currently Breaking All Records
SCOOP or the 4th staging of the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is currently breaking all records when it comes to player participation in an internet series. So far, it has already recorded 526,154 registrants, meaning, it has already surpassed its own 2010 record of 461,936. That’s a clear 14% increase. And this is in spite of the fact that US players can’t join since the US Department of Justice has closed down a lot of poker rooms last April 15, 2011 like Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker, and PokerStars to name a few. Impressive, isn’t it? Particularly when last year’s tally attracted 403,378 buy-ins from a total of 156 countries and 107,697 individual players which brought the collective prize pool to $43,165,800.
